Twinwoods Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River 2016

Description

The Twinwoods Vineyard is primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, which is divided into 4 individual blocks. The 4 blocks are harvested separately. Each block is picked, crushed and fermented separately, following which the wine is drained to 225 litre Fine Grained French oak from specific Bordeaux barrel makers and remains for 15 months.

Excellent growing season in 2016. Beautiful aromas of cassis and cedar with lifted bright fruit.  Super elegant with soft grainy tannins and a long balanced finish.

94 points, Ray Jordan’s 2020 West Australian Wine Guide “Blackcurrant and savoury plum with bay leaf dominate on the nose. The palate displays both texture and intensity with grainy tannins and fine-grained oak supporting some quality fruit. Has a firm core which carries it through to a very long finish. I like this wine. Cellar 12 years.”
