Description
Rich and slightly sweet, though with a balanced oakiness. Walk in the woods: apple and violet, an old log cabin in the summer heat. Though the palate is lighter than the nose suggests, this has class. Leafy, almost mossy. Pine woods, violet again and a dusty rooty quality but sufficient sweetness to add depth and complexity. Good length on the finish. Pomegranate. This is a real jump in quality and shows great finesse.
Pungent, oily and softly nutty sherry aromas with rum-like dried fruit – sultana and grape.
Pleasantly deep with a late vanilla note. Oily and nutty palate with a profusion of sherried dried fruit along with liquorice and dark honey. Lovely building spices on the middle but the tannins are building too. Good, spicy finish. A pleasant sherried dram.
